NAPOLEON III 1852-1870 Naked head of the emperor. R/. Imperial coat of arms surrounded by the shields of the 20 participating countries. Silver medal of the engraver Albert BARRE. (edge: hand stamp). Not attributed. Ø 60 mm. (127,67 g) Slight graffiti on the obverse. Cuts on the edge. High relief portrait and finely chiseled reverse. UNIVERSAL EXHIBITION of Agriculture, Industry and Fine Arts. Paris, 1855 The first Universal Exhibition in France took place in Paris from May 15 to November 15. There were 25 participating countries and their colonies (except Russia in conflict with the Crimean War!!!). 25,600 exhibitors and 5,162,330 visitors.
