The work was censored and forbidden to be distributed. Nelly Kaplan, born April 11, 1936 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a French writer and filmmaker. It is Henri Langlois who in 1954 at a reception in tribute to G. Méliès, introduces her to Abel Gance. Fifteen days after this meeting, she became his assistant and played a small role in The Tower of Nesle (1954). -From the library of Régine Deforges, with this little note full of mischief, in a numbered envelope: RD 079: "Paris, Friday. Thank you, dear Régine, for sending me Irène. I will reread with great pleasure the work of Mr Routisie, which seems to me called to a great literary future... My weaver is weaving her strange black sheets, and I hope that you will be able to announce it soon in your catalogs. See you soon with my friendly memory. BELEN " It is of course alluded to the text of ARAGON, "Le Con d'Irène" republished by R. Deforges, under the name "IRENE" in which appears the pseudo "Albert de ROUTISIE", intended to satisfy the requirements of the public authorities, always inclined to facilitate the freedom of speech. - Very rare in first edition, and very nice provenance.
