The Bar Kokhba revolt 132-135) is the second insurrection of the Jews of the province of Judea against the Roman Empire, and the last of the Jewish-Roman wars. Despite the ruin into which the Romans had plunged the country during the first Judeo-Roman war, another Jewish rebellion took place 60 years later, despite the opposition of part of the priestly class. Bar Kokhba organized an army, established an independent Jewish state in the land of Judea, planned to rebuild the Temple, and had money minted.
