French Army (1791-1816). Important suite of 155 colored plates showing the flags, standards, pennants and guidons of our ancient army, based on designs by Challiot de Prusse, on card stock (50 x 29 cm). Laws and regulations of : 1791, 1793, 1794, 1797, 1802, 1803, 1806, 1811 and 1816. For the Consular Guard, Imperial and Royal Guards, Line and Light Infantry, Large Cavalry, Light Cavalry, Artillery, Engineers, Gendarmerie, Swiss Troops... Polish Legion, Northern Frank Legions, Italian Legion, Egyptian Campaign... The 90 plates on offer were produced between 1954 and 1959. There are twenty finished plates, thirty sketched and hand-painted and forty plates with titles but only sketched, in preparatory drawings executed by photographic process.
