The Quimbayas and Tayronas are Amerindian ethnic groups from Colombia, now extinct. They were famous for their civilization and production of high-quality gold objects.
Tumbaga is the name given by the Spanish conquistadors to a gold and copper alloy they found widely used by the pre-Columbian civilizations of Mesoamerica and South America. Gold is composed of approximately 45.09% gold, 18.60% silver and 33.79% copper.
