*Charles-Albert was the son of Charles-Emmanuel of Savoy. He succeeded his uncle Charles Félix in 1831. After the defeat at Novarre, he abdicated on March 24, 1849, in favor of his son Victor-Emmanuel II. He died in Porto on August 28 of the same year.
