François LINKE (1855-1946). Bonheur du jour, kidney-shaped, in mahogany and mahogany veneer, let marquetry. It opens with three drawers in the waistband, resting on four curved legs. The top, darkened with gilded leather, is surmounted by a tier with a curved front housing a pigeonhole and five drawers, topped by a clock with a white enameled dial, signed "F. Linke". Linke". (Minor damage to the enamel). Two two-light candelabras rest on the bottom of the tier. Ornamentation in chased and gilded bronze with foliate corner falls, foliate ribbon bows, pull handles and key escutcheons (two pull handles missing). Louis XV style. Signed.
