PIERRE JOUBERT. [scout, scouting] Rare and magnificent complete set of all extra-large issues of "Scout" magazine, numbers 256 to 277, from January 5, 1951 to December 5, 1952. 22 issues in all. This is the only period when this magazine (for which there is no publisher's binding) appeared in this 31 x 25 cm format. These issues are much more fragile due to their size. Very good overall condition, with minimal marginal wear or insignificant microtears on the spines, very fresh, moderate foxing on the 2nd plates of a few issues, one issue with a trace of wetness at the top of the 1st plate, which has not rubbed off on the rest, and one issue with a name inscribed at the top of the 1st plate. They constitute an anthology of the best Joubert scouting, in its most glorious and masterful period. Magnificent covers and numerous interior drawings.
