B.[ernard?] Hatt, possible pseudonym of Louis Forton (artist who used the pseudonym Tom Hatt" and B. Hatt can be read as the 19th-century slang word "bath", meaning "pretty or new, or good". The Poulbot-style drawing seems compatible with Forton's style. India ink on paper, signed, titled in pencil "Prix de guerre" and captioned below: "Well, I had to get the spelling prize too, only we did the compositions in a cellar because it was bombing, so as we couldn't see very clearly, I made mistakes". 23 x 29.5 cm.
