- original drawing
Bourg en Bresse, 1944, prison camp awaiting repatriation ?
India ink and gray gouache wash.
On a loose leaf of a spiral notebook, fine paper, well preserved, titled by the artist "Bourg en Bresse 1944", twice monogrammed AR.
10.3 x 17.3 cm each.
- 3 original drawings, Paris and Lyon 1944.
Drawings on loose leaves of a spiral notebook, fine paper, well preserved, Indian ink or blue ink for one.
- One of which is titled by the artist "Tuileries 44" for the left-hand side of the drawing and "cours Charlemagne Lyon 7-44" for the right-hand side (rare example of the total interweaving of two drawings of completely different subjects to create a subject that may seem homogeneous. Very interesting and close to a surrealist perspective.
- A view titled "Tuileries 44".
- A view titled "Tuileries 3-44. orangerie. Mayol".
All drawings monogrammed.
10.4 x 17.3 cm each.
- 3 drawings on loose leaves of a spiral notebook, fine paper, well preserved, one titled by the artist "projet pour un café".
8.5 x 13.5 cm for 2, and 10.3 x 13.4 for 1.
India ink on fine paper.
Including a lovely view of the Place de la Madeleine in Paris, typical of the art deco style, and "Parisian types" including one marked "saint Michel 1937" (for the Place Saint Michel, near Notre-Dame, in the Latin Quarter).
1930s.
Two drawings a little creased at the bottom, an angular crease on one.
- 8 original drawings recto/verso, Paris under German occupation and Libération 1944 + 2 self-portraits.
The 8 drawings on loose leaves of a spiral notebook, fine paper, well preserved, several titled by the artist, monogrammed "AR" and three bearing a red collector's stamp that I have been unable to decipher.
Among the titled drawings, we note especially Tuileries 7/ 44" with a group of German soldiers, an interesting subject as the last German presence in Paris, a few days before the Liberation (on the reverse, we find ironically a drawing of an American jeep marked 8 /44 in Roman numerals!!).
Also women in the fashions of the time.
The inscription on one drawing "Guimezanes atelier Cami" can be traced back to illustrator Paul Guimezanès (1916-2001), who studied engraving with Robert Cami.
The man in the close-up on two drawings is a self-portrait of the artist (one of the two drawings is marked "autoportrait").
13 x 8.1 cm each
technique: Indian ink on paper, blue ink on paper, and one drawing in blue ink wash and blue pencil
