Nîmes ace (bronze) (13.27 g)
Dark green patina with trace of varnish. Two beautiful portraits. Nice style. Very handsome.
Commonly known as the Nîmes ace, this coin is actually a dupondius equivalent to 2 aces. That's why it's sometimes found cut in two, with one half worth an ace. The current coat of arms of the city of Nîmes symbolizes Octavian's victory over Mark Antony and Cleopatra at the battle of Actium in 31 BC.
